Itinerary -
Day 01: Delhi – Manali
Drive by AC Volvo in the evening at 18:00 hrs to Manali. Overnight journey.
Day 02: Manali
Reach Manali by morning at 08:30 hrs. After reaching Manali, meet our representative and check-in to the hotel. Take rest this day. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 03: Manali – Kaza
Today, we will drive over the Rohtang Pass, which is the doorway to Lahaul. Drive through Losar, which is the first village in Spiti Village to reach Kaza. On arrival, check-in to the hotel and overnight stay in hotel.
Day 04: Kaza
Post breakfast, we will explore Dhankar Monastery. It is the former capital of Spiti and positioned above the meeting point of Pin and Spiti rivers. After this, continue towards Tabo Gompa, which is one of the greatest monasteries in Himalayan Area. Explore paintings and sculptures, which are more than 1000 years old. Drive back to Kaza for overnight stay.
Day 05: KAZA - KIBBER - DUMLA (4200m, drive 30 mins & trek 2 hrs)
Today, we drive to Key and from here we shall trek uphill to Gate and then descend to Kibber village. After lunch, we continue our trek to Dumla locked up between hills and beautiful campsite. Further, we shall descent to narrow Parilungbi gorge and cross the Parang River by bridge and follow a small stream to reach Dumla village, which is the last inhabited village on route. Late afternoon, visit Chichim village located nearby.
Day 06: DUMLA - THALTAK (4600m, trek 4-5 hrs)
Today, after the breakfast, we shall climb a high ridge and then descend to the beautiful meadows at Thaltak. Campsite offers beautiful views and overlooks deep gorges. Overnight in tents
Day 07: THALTAK - BONGROJEN (5050m, trek 6-7 hrs)
Our trek for today will be a long and strenuous one. We shall go down to the Paralungbi gorge and then hike upstream. We will cross a river and climb through a rocky trail to reach the campsite. Overnight in tents.
Day 08: BONGROJEN - REST/ACCLIMATISATION DAY
Today's day will be kept for better acclimatization and giving our legs some rest before we attempt the pass. One can go on a short exploratory hike today. Overnight in tents.
Day 09: BONGROJEN - PARANG LA (5490m) - DAK KARZONG (4850m, trek 5-6 hrs)
Early in the morning, we shall head out for the pass. It will take about 2-3 hours to reach the Parang La (5490m). Like all passes this one also offers spectacular views of both the Spiti and the Changthang valleys. After witnessing the view, we will walk for around 3 more hours from the pass to reach the campsite at Dak Karzong. Overnight in tents.
Day 10: DAK KARZONG - DATANG YONGMA (4650m, trek 3-4 hrs)
Today, we shall descend along the open plains of the Pare Chu to reach Datang Yongma. Overnight in tents.
Day 11: DATANG YONGMA - CHUMIK SHILDE (4330m, trek/6-7 hrs)
Our trek today will be besides Pare Chu. We will cross Racholemo and Norbu Sumdo to reach our campsite at Chumik Shilde. Overnight in tents.
Day 12: CHUMIK SHILDE - KIANGDOM (4450m, trek /3-4 hrs)
Today, we will walk across the plains to reach Kiangdom at the southern edge of Tso Moriri.. This place is reckoned to be the bird watchers paradise. Overnight in tents.
Day 13: KIANGDOM - KORZOK (4500m, trek 6-7 hrs)
Our trek today will be on a beautiful trail of the shores of the lake. The view of the lake with Lungser Kangri (6666m) in the backdrop is absolutely picturesque. We shall visit the ancient monastery at the Korzok village as well. Overnight in tents.
Day 14: Korzok – Gyama
Post breakfast, we shall trek across several large nomadic encampments to Gyama over Gyamsharma La. Overnight stay in the tent.
Day 15: Gyama - Rajung Karu
We shall trek to Rajung Karu by crossing Kyamayuri La today. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 16: Rajung Karu – Nuruchan
Post breakfast, we will trek over the low ridge of Harlam Konka to a small hamlet and Gompa of Nuruchan. Overnight stay at Nuruchan.
Day 17: Nuruchan - Tso Kar
Our trek today will be to Tso Kar, which is one of the most beautiful lakes of the Changthang plains. Overnight at Tso Kar.
Day 18: Tso Kar - Tanglang La – Leh
In the morning, we shall trek from Tso Kar to Tanglang La (5328 meters) and from here drive to Leh by jeep.
Day 19: Leh – Shey – Thiksey – Hemis
Today, we shall go on a sightseeing tour to some important monasteries in the area. We will be visiting Shey Gompa, which was once the summer capital of Ladakh kings; Thiksey Gompa, which is said to be one of the most beautiful structures in Ladakh and the famed Hemis Monastery belonging to Drukpa Order. Overnight stay at the guest house.
Day 20: Leh – Delhi
Catch the morning flight from Leh to Delhi.

About Spiti-Ladakh Trek
If one has arrived at the Himalaya to hike across high passes and vast tree-covered mountainsides, one will be spoiled for choices in Lahaul and Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh. The old trade route to Ladakh and Tibet may have been tarmacked, but most of this remote and spectacular region is still only accessible on foot. Its trails, though well frequented in high season, are long, hard and high, punctuated by few settlements, so be ready for this unending exploration journey!

Best Time to Visit
The ideal time for Spiti to Ladakh Trek is between Mid-June and September of the 2nd week of October (depending on weather conditions)
In Mid June and July: During these months, one can enjoy cascading waterfalls and beautiful glaciers in the Lahaul and Zanskar valley. The benefit of visiting in during these months is that there will be very less to no rain.
In August, September till mid October: The snow starts melting in May and new plants start to prosper till August giving the opportunity for witnessing Zanskar in one of its most beautiful period.
Where is the Spiti Valley?
Spiti is a mountainous region situated in the close to the Tibetan border in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Recently opened to foreigners, the region still has many unclimbed peaks and hidden valleys. Spiti is separated from fertile Lahaul by the soaring 4551m Kunzum La and is famous for its moonscape.
How to Reach?
Nearest Airport: The Kullu Manali airport at Bhuntar Town (about 50 km south of Manali and 10 km south of Kullu town) is the nearest airport, which has flights to Delhi and Chandigarh.
Nearest Railway Station: Jogindar Nagar is the nearest railway station (lies 166 km from Manali). The other rail heads are at Chandigarh and Pathankot.
By Road: Manali is well connected by road with Delhi, Ambala, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Shimla, Dharamsala and Chamba/Dalhousie. Regular buses ply between these stations. It is connected with Leh during July to October.
